this is a enormous all around unit

i had to upgrade after my stock headunit took a dump and couldn't be happier with my choice

the earlier complaints about this deck have now been solved and all you have to do is visit kenwoods website to accumulate the latest updates installed (Trusty easy) and if your using a rear sub via the sub out connection you will have to contact kennwoods customer help # to score them to bound you thur the process.

btw calling and getting a kenwood tech is Trusty easy and they are more then cheerful to serve you. i called 3 times about different questions and got the answers every time, with exiguous to no waiting on have. (thank you kenwood)

the deck is fully upgradeable down the road so if you resolve to add navi, satellite radio, bluetooth or hd radio ect. your covered no dilemma.

if your wanting to spend your ipod or iphone with the fresh update and the exhaust of KENWOODs KCA-IP301V cable you will be able to control your ipod thru the deck seamlessly

i am currently able to control my iphone 3g with no problems. (Video music podcasts .ect)

so if your looking for the basics with the option to upgrade you'd be goofy not to seriously believe the DDX-512

Purchased as a replacement for factory DD radio, expansive head unit- It can be upgraded to all the stuff you exactly want. It plays DVDs, no issues viewing, tall sound quality with the Alpine components, Have the navigation esteem it to - impartial wish you could here the radio but I guess if you need directions your focuse should be there not the music, Radio is as used as the factory radio so no change there but suited news you can always upgrade to sat. or HD radio- so for the impress its a expansive head unit with even greater potential with all the upgrades you could ever want.

Easy install- took about 15 minutes, the nav unit took longer due to running/ hiding the wires, but all turned out seemless.

This is a pleasurable item for the sign. it plays DVD's, CD's, musis and TV shows that are on your iPod. Once you accept it bent up it works huge. My reason for only giving it 3 stars is the lack of information available regarding extra equipment to do it work properly. This information is not available on Kenwoods web position or Amazons product description or any other web sit I searched.

1. You will most likely need an antana adaptor. Depenting on what type of vehicle you have this could be as worthy as $50.00. Luckily for my GMC Sierra it was only $10.00.

2. In order to hook up your iPod you need another adaptor cable which was about $40.00. Additionally, this will not work on all iPods. I have an iPod touch which works expansive with this stereo. I also have an origional iPod classic that does not work even with the upgrades available on apple's web station. I took my older iPod to a local stereo store to examine encourage and they told me that it is simply "too veteran to work with this stereo". The product description for this stereo says it works with all iPods version 1.2 or newer and I have found this to be erroneous.

3. Mounting Hardware- Unless you are replacing an existing aftermarket double din deck you will also need a slither kit. The installation hardware that comes with the unit is useless for a GMC sierra. Add another $20.00.

4. This deck does not near with a remote control. This is not fraudulent as the product description does not station that there is a remote included. However some movies will not play without the comand from a remote. Another $30.00.

5. If you want to possess your door chimes and factory computer functions of your particular vehicle, you need an additional unit that plugs inline with your factory wiring harness before pluging into the deck. For a GMC Sierra this was another $189.00. You don't NEED this to originate the deck work but again, not mentioned in the product description, anywhere.

Enough bashing on this unit as it does have a couple of unexpected useful features.

1. It clearly states in the instruction manual that you cannot play video from your iPod on this unit. That is not apt. I observe movies, TV shows and any other type of video from my iPod touch without any jam.

2. The installation manual wants you to install this unit so that it won't play video while you are driving. This can be easily over riden by grounding the wire on that serve of the deck that they want you to connect to your park brake.

Hope this is reliable because none of this information was available to me before I purchased this unit. But now that I have it zigzag up, and over $250.00 additional dollars later I treasure this unit!!!

I've owned Garmin's for more than 5 years and I currently enjoy a NUVI 760. I've heard the tremendous news about the TOMTOM 930 with IQROUTES, lane guidance, and the HOME feature so I decided to remove the 930 so I can give it a slouch and compare it to the NUVI 760 with MSN Affirm.

TOMTOM Pluses:

Arrival time -

The arrival time with IQROUTES are MORE suitable than Garmin's. The NUVI keeps updating the arrival time during the hobble. I compared the arrival time from the launch and the TOMTOM was more factual. TOMTOM is constantly collecting the proceed times and updating their database. When you label in to the HOME program the IQroutes from your trips are uploaded to the TOMTOM server.

Routes:

If anyone writes a review about a GPS and states that routes are 100% honest then they are lieing, I have not found the perfect GPS with perfect routes.

The routes on both the 930 and the NUVI 760 have been identical. With the 930 I glimpse minutes left on the hump, time left, and arrival time. I can even negate the 930 what time I would like to come at my destination.I can AVOID any of the roads on my prance. You CANNOT avoid roads on the NUVI 760.

TRAFFIC:

I'm using traffic on the 930 through my ATT Tilt phone and it seems to work and it is honest. It uses my Tilt to access the traffic on the TOMTOM server through the Internet. If you have cell coverage you should have traffic data.

MSN Traffic on the 760 is not apt and the avoidance feature does not work that well. The awful thing about the MSN Roar feature is that it does not have pleasurable range. I live in Chicago and the service does not work in many of the outlying suburbs.

PLUSES:

Iqroutes are more honest than the NUVI.

Lane guidance works in my state.

Avoiding roads on your slouch.

Being able to apt street names, closed streets, one ways, and many other errors is a gargantuan plus.

Traffic works well.

The GPS chip has not lost reception. I've lost the signal numerous times on the NUVI.

More information on the 930 hide than on the 760.

TOMTOM minuses:

The cover is hard to explore in sunlight.

The maps are not awful since I loaded the Garmin design gaze on the 930. I even have the magenta route line on my 930.

The battery does not last more than 1 hour.

The Text to speech does not work all the time. The street names are not pronounced as kindly as the NUVI.

You don't fetch the constant reminders that the NUVI 760 provides. Sometimes I don't assume that I drive the 930 with my eyes cessation. With the 760 you can stop your eyes and not miss a turn.

I cannot locate an address by ANY city like the NUVI. Sometimes the 930 cannot locate an address if it thinks it's in a different city. You have to input the surrounding city names to catch the fair address and route.

Hello,

I have recently moved in USA and it is a large challenge to drive in USA w/out efficient and worthy GPS. As soon as I landed, I bought Tomtom 930 because Tomtom is very renowned in Europe. Unbiased recently, I have bought Garmin 680 for my wife and I have been using for for 3 days and can execute honorable evaluation despite time is short to invent an upright evaluation:

PROS and CONS of Tomtom 930 & Garmin 680

1. Tomtom is a lot more user estimable with remote control.

2. You can secure the locations with Zip Codes (I have not seen such spec in Garmin yet at least)

3. Tomtom's guidance is a lot better in complex areas (And with Lane assist, it is even better) .

4. Tomtom's intention is not as helpful as Garmin's at least for USA. Garmin can get more destinations and more side streets. Tomtom is huge only if you don't need every single street in each and every city.

5. Garmin has a lot better belief on the camouflage when compared to Tomtom. It is more clearer and tells you on the veil the next street you must recall and the distance left. I may feel it complicated on Tomtom's camouflage because I am color blind. So, suggest you do not rely on this evaluation too considerable.

6. EPT is a tremendous feature for Tomtom which guides you even there is no satellite reception. However, this feature sometimes crashes and turns the procedure off.

7. Tomtom follows different ways for the same origin and destinations. It is so irregular but I do not really know the reason.

Last but not least, Tomtom is a titanic product with enormous features when compared to Garmin 680. However, if your occupation is sales like me, you need Garmin to regain where you need to go in all details. But, Garmin's features are a lot less than Tomtom's. I wish there was a GPS which compiles all pros together in one draw. You should also compare the mark disagreement between two devices I contain.

Pros:

Much improved streak time estimates

Better routing choices than previous TomTom models

Interface customization options

Cons:

Hard to survey hide in colorful light

No route optimization

TeleAtlas diagram accuracy (at least in Florida)

Inability to route to off-road locations

Operating System stability

I've had the 930 since the kill of April, running it side by side with a Garmin 760. Overall, it's been a beautiful performer. But it's also gorgeous distinguished a 920 with only one sincere updated feature. . . IQRoutes. TomTom added (via navcore8) historical run data to the TeleAtlas mapset, greatly improving not only it's estimated dash times but it's routing decisions. Whereas TomTom devices have been among the poorest in drivetime estimates, the 930 is now blooming considerable unimaginative on for most trips. In fact, my Garmin, which has always had reliable drive time accuracy, now is matched and even sometimes bettered by the 930, depending on time of day. Both units can be trusted in this regard. Routing is also improved. During hurry hour, if the TomTom 930 recommends a different route than my nuvi, I tend to go with the TomTom. In the evenings, or at light traffic times, the 760 may be a bit better, tho not always. In fact the 930 and Garmin 760 will now frequently recommend nearly the same route. This is really the only step up feature from the 920 for all practical purposes. The other two touted features, Active Lane Guidance and Static Interchange Images, will rarely, if ever, be seen by most users. In 6 weeks of driving in Central Florida I've seen ALG perhaps three times and Static images never. Not even once. The only users who seem to ever gape them are in the countries densest metro areas: San Francisco, Chicago, Modern York, etc, and no frequency even there. So if these are the features that interest you, consume a TomTom 920 instead (or better yet a Navigon) . The hardware, features and performance of the 920 and 930 are otherwise identical. For the new mark contrast between the 920 and 930, my recommendation is the 920. Honest not yet enough contrast to define the extra $150-$200 trace premium for the 930. Until IQRoutes takes time of day into consideration in it's route computions, the usefulness is smooth somewhat puny. Currently the options are three: Mon through Fri / Saturday / Sunday. No time of day or weekday option.

A couple of issues I have with this TomTom are system stability and the TeleAtlas maps. In Florida, at least, the TA draw, while very detailed, is powerful more error-prone than the Navteq maps (customary by several others, including Garmin, Google and Magellan) . There are a lot of "imaginary" roads, some highways misdrawn, and others no longer existing or misnamed. The maps do appear to contemplate many fresh road additions, but are monotonous to demonstrate corrections to existing roads. This level of error is not seen in my Navteq diagram, tho it too is far from perfect or all-inclusive.

My 930 has rebooted for no certain reason on several occasions and required one system reset so far. In dissimilarity I've never had to reset my 760 in nearly 8 months of utilize and can remember only one spontaneous reboot. The TomTom OS is suspect with regard to stability in my thought. Accelerate limits data is seldom seen, unlike my 760 and Navteq's extensive hurry limit displays. Diagram updates have also been somewhat problematic. The only other issues of impress are listed at the top of the review, with the cover being the most apparent predicament for most users. The Garmin 760 expose is very smart with lustrous colors and desirable text, easily seen in my truck with the brightest sunshine. The TomTom 930 cover is sometimes nearly unreadable under the same conditions. Spirited it off the windshield, using an optional vent mount for example, improves the viewing quite a lot.

Voices are very favorable, not quite the quality of the Garmin voices, but usually a limited louder. Some limitations on enunciation, but not enough to cause an train for most users. The included remote is more of a novelty than truly useful, IMO, as I can touch enter addresses faster than I can with articulate entry and with less aggravation. It should be famous tho that the only map to go backwards in the menus is with the remote.

Overall, the 930 is a very proper automotive gps, better than my 760 at some things, worse in others, but sterling of consideration, tho the 920 (or nuvi 7x0's) is a better value for the features.

I needed a worthy but sealed power-pack (sealed battery + converter) for poolside exercise, to power a spacious 110-volt karaoke machine for five hours a day. The Xatrex 1500 is the only power-pack I've found that meets this requirement.

It was a honorable surprise to catch that the wheels have rubber rather than (noisy) plastic treads.

The first 1500 stopped working with a bang after two hours. When I phoned the Xantrex company, the technician I soon was talking to quick concluded that my 1500 had malfunctioned and recommended that I return it. I was satisfied with this candor. The second 1500 has worked for about a month now.

Not determined is that the 1500 has a petite storage cabinet, in which I store an extension cord.

Both 1500s arrived undamaged. A disclaimer is that I bought my 1500s from costo-dot-comm, which is relevant because perhaps Costco uses different packaging for shipping.

The "tall karaoke machine" is a MegaStar CM-K1100, and its average plan has been 30-something watts.

9/18/06 Update: Around July the charge time dropped to under four hours. When I called Xantrex, the technician told me that battery life is about 200 charges.

The Xpower 1500 is a noble backup system as it has eveything you need in a convenient handtruck (the batteries are heavy) .
Unfortunately the 61 Amphr batteries don't last that long. Adding a 100Ahr battery which you can easily be connected to the xPower get for a nice system which will fetch you thru a few days of blackout.

I previously ordered two of these units and wrote a review. Both were badly damaged, but one was salvagable. The other I had to return, after it overheated and emitted a atrocious odor. I decided to select a chance and order another unit this month (goal was to have total of two working units), hoping that whatever warehouse or shipping issues that resulted in previous afflict had been resolved. They weren't. This unit also came with crushed top and wheels. Until the manufacturer comes up with a better draw to ship these heavy beasts, not worth it.

I originally purchased the Milwaukee to lift the crankshaft pulley sprint on my Honda, but couldn't catch it off the first time. The garage torqued it diagram too worthy the last time I had the timing belt changed so I paid a local garage mech ten dollars to shatter it free. As it turns out, even the garage air impact wrench had a runt difficulty and that guy could advise 600 ft-lb or torque. He retorqued it enough to score home and I was able to do everything else unbiased fair.

Everything else went well and the Milwuakee had no anguish removing lug nuts and other nuts/bolts. How grand torque applied depends on how hard you push on the tool. The lowest torque is 100 ft-lb and I guessed when torquing the crankshaft swagger to 130 ft-lb. That and a small Medium grade Loktite should hold things nice and tight until the next time.

There are similar models, but there are several things I like about this impact wrench above the others. The first broad thing I liked is the variable bustle which is nice when you fair want to snug-up a nut or dawdle. I also like it over the rocker switch since it is similar to working a drill. The second immense thing I liked about the wrench is the switch for switching between forward and reverse. Again, this is a directional switch similar to a drill. The last thing I liked about the kit is that it comes with a case and a few sockets. This may be minor, but being that I'm not using the tool all of the time, it's nice to have it nicely packed away and ready to grab when needed. The sockets only add to the value since these can acquire expensive. With the novel $25 discount for purchases over $199, it only makes sense to exercise a petite more and glean a lot more.

I'll be using it again for mounting a tow hitch and other general automotive work. Well worth buying.

Wanted to take impact gun for years. Finally decided to capture one. To date tool has paid for itself in reduced labor costs. Substantial pricing and very reasonable shipping rates. Could not be happier.

You can Steal Cheap tool's, and I Have. But Never Got Any Employ Out Of Them. So I Started Buying Tool's That Cost A Dinky More, And started Getting some Utilize Out Of Them. Like Milwakee, It Is a High Quality Tool. You Cannot Go Infamous With This Designate. It May Cost more. But You Do Not Have To Replace It For Y-E-A-R-S. And It Work's Substantial Every Time You Prefer It Up To Employ. Which I acquire Care Of My Tool's Anyway. About Like i Care For My First Born. and That's The Truth. Polish And Wipe Off Every Time I Consume. But That's The Life Of a Tool. But Milwakee Build's A Broad Tool That Will Last You for Year's To Near, with Out ever Wondering If it Will Work The Next Time You Prefer It Up. They Are Tough. I've Dropped Them, and Hard. Expend Them Hard. And Continuos For Hard day's Work. Sometime's Not Putting Them Down. But They Never Let Me Down. So instead Of Spending Your Hard Earned Money On Cheap Tool's, and Having To Replace Every Miniature Bit. Impartial Capture A Milwakee And You May Have It a Lifetime.

Thank's for Reading, God Bless

I'd like to address the comment made about our 3028K kit. We always recommend professional installation by a licensed electrician familiar with local and national codes, and familiar with portable generators. We include a power inlet box enclosure in this kit package in order to place the consumer money. We include a power inlet mounted in the transfer switch when plug-in connection is desired, as in a garage installation. But when the transfer switch is hardwired, as in a basement installation, the inlet is not needed, and can be removed. A professional installer would steal the inlet from the transfer switch and reinstall it in the power inlet enclosure...So you're not paying for the inlet twice. That was our reasoning unhurried the decision - to effect the consumer from paying for the same component in the kit twice. We stand late our products 100%, and we apologize that the information you received was misleading.

My adult son and I recently purchased sizable gas generators and when attaching them to our homes the electrician recommended this product. We ordered thru Amazon and the items arrived sooner then expected. my transfer switch was installed and worked perfectly, my sons had a circuit switch stuck start on his and notified the company and they made it suited

First of all, you need to go to the "Gen Tran" web dwelling and download the suitable installation instructions as the one that comes in the box is NOT the suitable sheet. It will work but I found that the "3028" is not listed. I hold to have the true info and materials when working on a electrical panel. There are few second chances working there.

So for my install, I effect the panel in the basement and ran a 10/4 cable 30ft to the exterior box supplied in the kit. I removed the NEMA male fling from the transfer panel and covered the hole with the round plate supplied. After connecting the 10/4 to the transfer panel (unbiased build the same color wires from cable that were primitive on the NEMA travel to the circuit breakers in the transfer panel) . Next, install the NEMA tear you took out of the panel into the exterior box and wire it to the 10/4 cable. Now you honest hook one slay of the extention cord that came in the kit to the generator and the other to the exterior box you objective wired.

Back at the main panel and transfer panel, follow the instructions for hooking it up. I will lisp you that if you have any doubt about doing this, call an electrician and put the cost of screw ups and a journey to the morgue. But you can do the previous steps easily which will do you money when the electrician comes. Most of the previous steps will grasp the most time of the hook up. The main panel hook up shouldn't seize more than 2 hours. I say 2 hours because in my case, I had to switch around some circuit breakers so that I could install the 2 pole 60 amp breaker in the main panel.

That is about it, although I would write down the switching instructions and have them posted by the main & transfer panels. Pilots expend check lists to prevent screw ups...you can too.

To sum it all up, a very grand product, a ample effect and easily installed for most home owners, but a minimial cost if done by a professional.

Protect your investment (your house) by installing this product.

Don't backfeed as you are responsibile for harm at the pole AND if your insurance co. finds out what you've done....no more insurance. Do it the proper map for the sake of your family.
