I bought it fully loaded with 3G, Bluetooth, 6 cell battery, HD cloak.

OS: Runs Windows 7 flawlessly. Drivers are available for all hardware including DriveGuard and the 3G modem.

Keyboard: HP has always had the best netbook keyboards. They've out-done themselves again with this one. You can type as swiftly as a full-sized keyboard (it's 95% of regular sized) . The keys are also very mild and you can grasp notes in meetings without being noticeable.

3G: works perfectly with any SIM card. I'm told you can employ it on CDMA networks too without SIM cards.

Bluetooth: Range and performance is far better than the older HP netbooks like the 2140.

Battery Life: 4-6 hours depending on how heavy you spend it. On a plane without wireless I bag a pudgy 6 hours.

HD Screen: Can be runt if you have poor eyes. Makes it possible to go days with honest a netbook. I can even work in my Outlook Calendar. The cloak is also NOT glossy. A gigantic plus in my books. I can actually exhaust it outside and in quick-witted rooms.

Size: Slightly larger than the HP 2140 + HP Mini 110/1000 (I've owned all of them), but unless they're side by side you wouldn't gawk. The 6 cell battery DOES NOT stick out like all other HP netbooks. There is only a minor bulge of about 4-5mm.

I did great research before I decided to take the HP 5101, after all, spending $430 on a netbook that you cannot gawk before you catch seemed a runt perilous. I've had it for about a week now and am pleased to say that it is living up to expectation.

The specs jabber for themselves, dazzling remarkable standard netbook fare, but the details of this machine plot it apart. It looks large, is sturdy and feels astronomical too. The keyboard is larger and easier to employ than my last notebook - a larger plot than the 5101. The keys are also very aloof and have a nice feel and rebound. One very nice addition is the soft feel to the site below the keyboard that warps around to the assist of the unit. It results in a soft but durable feel, making typing that great nicer. The 5101 objective feels like a well built netbook. The mouse pad is a nice form too, considering the sterling placement of the mouse buttons and the addition of a scroll on the upright side.

The first thing I did to the 5101 was upgrade to 2g of RAM. This is a very simple process and definitely speeds it up. I also opted for the hi-cap battery, although I have not had enough time to test its valid urge time. One nice feature about the battery that seems to be frequently overlooked is the built in LED indicator. Flip the netbook over and press the button to notice how considerable battery charge is remaining. No need to power up to check the battery gauge. Nice!

Processing wise, it's not a hasten demon. This is a netbook, it's not meant to handle vast applications but for regular Internet exhaust, email and celebrated programs (Word, Excel, etc) it works mountainous. The conceal is one of the largest currently available but does select a minute getting obsolete to. Learning how to screen tool bars and web address bars will support maximize your on-screen experience.

The accomplish is brilliant, super and stylish. The processing is on the high slay for netbooks, the unit is light, durable and comfortable. You can bewitch up a plastic netbook for cheaper and obtain it confused with your kids netbook, or you can pay a limited extra for the 5101 and have a netbook that should out last and out effect.

Amazon fails to suppose the battery type but this model or version (FM955UT) ships with a 4-cell battery and has no vital HP GOBI connection ability (without it, you'll need a USB data card to catch a Verizon or ATT signal from anywhere) .

The box Amazon ships will have no side markings or description so before you initiate it and subject yourself to a restocking fee, do your homework.
