This CPU has a vast cost/performance ratio. While I do not overclock, it runs at 3.17 Ghz on an ASUS P5Q mother board with 4 gigs of CORSAIR DDR2 800 race ram. With these cautions, you will have a blazing lickety-split system that is in a moderate stamp range.
this processor is very expeditiously and easy to install. I changed from the Quad core Q6600 to this unit and I'm worthy happier with it.
I upgraded to this E8500 from a E6750 and the performance increase is noticable.The extra Cache helps a lot in gaming.The cpu runs very wintry an is extreamly stable under load.
